NX2Apple · unofficial guide
Releases
Always use the project’s GitHub Releases. We link latest, show the current tag when the API responds, and explain Assets so you avoid the wrong zip. We do not mirror packages.
Not affiliated with Nintendo or the NX2Apple maintainers. We do not host installers, keys, firmware, or games — downloads go to GitHub Releases.
What to download
The primary player artifact is the macOS Apple silicon launcher zip, commonly NX2Apple-macOS-arm64.zip. Some tags also publish NS-Port-Builder-macOS-arm64.zip or similarly named aliases — read the Assets list when unsure. Engine zips support the app’s update flows; prefer the launcher zip unless notes say otherwise. Source code archives are for developers following BUILDING.md, not for the Gatekeeper install path on this site. Direct download uses GitHub’s latest/download redirect so you do not depend on this website to host a multi-hundred-megabyte binary.
- NX2Apple-macOS-arm64.zip — primary launcher
- NS-Port-Builder-macOS-arm64.zip — alternate name on some releases
- Engine zips — follow release notes before using manually
- Source archives — not the guided installer path
Rollback and required updates
If a new build breaks your workflow, open an older tag on GitHub Releases and download that tag’s macOS zip. Keep your keys and dumps; only replace the app. When maintainers mark a version as required — for example after engine packaging changes — staying on a favorite old build can permanently strand builds. In-app Check for updates is preferred when available because it explains what changed before replacing files. Changelog entries on GitHub summarize fixes such as Xcode Metal compiler bumps that otherwise look like random shader failures.
How this site uses the GitHub API
Pages with a download panel may query the public GitHub releases API to show the current tag and asset name. If the API is rate-limited or unreachable, the UI falls back to generic latest links and tells you to open Assets manually. That behavior mirrors other independent install guides that refuse to keep a private mirror which could drift from upstream. Personal backup and circumvention rules differ by country. You are responsible for knowing the law where you live. Never distribute dumps, keys, firmware, or the packages you build. If you enjoy a game, buy it from legitimate storefronts. This independent guide does not provide a ROM search, key database, or firmware mirror.
This site is not official. We do not host installers, prod.keys, firmware, or game dumps. Downloads go to GitHub Releases. Bring your own legally obtained dumps and keys.
FAQ
- Which file should I click?
- The macOS arm64 launcher zip. When unsure, open Assets and match the names on this page.
- Is latest always safe?
- Latest is usually correct, but read the release body for required upgrades and known breaks.
- Why not host the zip here?
- Mirrors go stale and imply redistribution. GitHub Releases remain the source of truth.
- Do release assets include games?
- No. Releases contain tooling. Games and keys stay on your machine.
